With our recent addition to the family, life has changed! We can no longer jump in the car and go. With a new baby you need to plan a little bit more.
We recently took a local vacation to CoCo Key Water Resort in Fitchburg, MA. We stayed one night in the attached hotel and had a great time! It was the perfect trip. You do not have to leave the hotel because everything you need is right there.
For breakfast and dinner there is a buffet in Applewoods, the on site restaurant. It’s your basic buffet, nothing fancy. Dinner is around $15 and breakfast costs about $12. Kids are free with a paying adult.
The water park has a section for younger kids that’s shallow and a larger pool and water slides for the bigger kids. For adults, there is a bar, a hot tub maintained at 80 degrees year round. I also saw a few adults loving the water slides! Or you could take turns napping in the hotel room while one parent takes the kids to the water park.
If you venture past the water park, or on the way, try Tang Dynasty in Leominster, MA. The food was fresh, good and fast! It’s right off Route 2.
We had a great trip. My one suggestion is to buy swim diapers before you get there, as they’re $5 for one at the park. We purchased a reusable one at Babies R UsĀ for the same price.
What are some of your favorite summer getaways with the little ones?
