Today we’re introducing you to Tiffany MacKay via a short video interview. Tiffany’s personality is bigger than life. She has a great sense of humor and a unique way of looking at the world. Best of all, she’s got a great laugh. She’s a working mom (works at Lowell General Hospital) and has volunteered to be one of our mommy bloggers. Enjoy meeting her through this short video.

Today we’re sharing a quick, informal video interview with Amy Dienta, one of our new mommy bloggers. Amy is a native of Lowell and was born at Lowell General Hospital! She has a 7-year-old son. We surprised her with this video interview and she was a really good sport. I hope you enjoy meeting her as much as we did.

This week we are posting video introductions of the featured bloggers in order for you to get to know them a little better before they start posting next week!
Today, we’re featuring a short clip of Jane Marshall. In addition to being a mom and a career person, Jane is the current Mrs. Massachusetts. Yeah, she’s got a lot going on. Enjoy meeting Jane in the video below.

Okay, it wasn’t really a brunch. But today we did have a gathering of the new mommy bloggers who will soon be submitting posts to the Merrimack Valley Moms blog. It was more of a lunch than a brunch. Whatever you call it, it was the first time the mommy bloggers had a chance to meet one another face-to-face. What a great group! Although they all have motherhood in common, they are all unique and each will bring a distinct voice to the blog.
We thought we’d post some of the photos from today’s gathering. Next week we’ll begin posting introductory videos where you’ll have a chance to meet these amazing women and hear from them in their own words.
Enjoy the photos below:

If you’ve heard about our contest to recruit mommy bloggers for the Merrimack Valley Moms blog (see details in earlier post), you may have asked yourself: “What would I have to blog about?” It’s a good question. So, we thought it would be helpful to give you a feel for what motivates some of the most popular mommy bloggers out there.
One of the top mommy blogs is “Thoughts from the Trenches.” Check them out at http://mommytrenches.blogspot.com. It’s written by a collection of about eleven women and they do a great job on their home page explaining what drives them to blog. Here’s an excerpt from the introduction to their blog that helps define their inspiration:
Mommy Blog: Thoughts from the Trenches
Who are we?
We are mothers with something to say. While we’re busy with the daily grind of raising our wonderful kids (among us 20 and counting), we think big (or small, or just plain funny) thoughts. And our kids inspire us. We write our memories, revelations, and kicks-in-the-pants here to share them and to save them.
Why this blog?
Because it’s not just misery that loves company. It’s joy, laughter, tears, successes, celebrations, thoughts, happy days and sad that all love company.
So what would you blog about? Your life. The great stuff and the challenges.
We invited you to tell us why you’d make a great mommy blogger for the Merrimack Valley area. Post your entry on the wall of Lowell General Hospital’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/LowellGeneralHosp. Your submission can either be a written narrative or a video that you upload to the Facebook page. It’s your choice.
